About the Recipe

Grandma's recipe for the best oatmeal cookies. As always, I like to keep ingredients and instructions as simple, quick, and easy as possible. This recipe will make around 5 dozen cookies to share with family, friends, and neighbors. If you don't need that many cookies, just half the recipe.

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2 cup buttermilk

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg

  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

  3. Stir in buttermilk

  4. Sift together all dry ingredients

  5. Stir into creamed mixture

  6. Stir in rolled oats, nuts, chocolate chips, raisins
